Oh my goodness I can't describe how happy I am! I think it's mostly because I have a Christmas tree sitting in front of me, and it's mine! I love Christmas, and I honestly don't think Lendel has ever seen me as giddy as I was on Friday night when I was setting it up. Our tree is very simple: only 6 ft tall, fairly thin greens, with gold and red bulbs and bells. It doesn't matter to me though because I'm just happy I finally have one!
Of course Thanksgiving was a great experience, but there were so many reasons it was great. My Grandpa Mortensen was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. It is widely known that Pancreatic Cancer works quickly, so we don't have much time left with him. It was such a blessing to be able to see him and the rest of my family. My family came up this Thanksgiving in order to spend some time with him. Grandpa gave the prayer for Thanksgiving dinner, and what a prayer it was. He is such a special, kind man, and I have been so lucky to have him in my life. I love him so much.
The holidays are always my favorite time of year (after Halloween, I get too creeped out during Halloween). A miracle happened on Thanksgiving and I'm so glad it did! I can proudly say that Thanksgiving was the first day in a long time that I did not puke!!! Oh what a relief to enjoy all that great food and not even have to see it come back again! And the best part? I haven't thrown up since! Thanksgiving will now be one of my favorite days of all time :)
These pregnancy hormones sure are crazy I tell you what. The worst one? My nose! Oh my goodness everything in this world stinks! My uncle Brad decided to make fresh salsa and eat it for breakfast. I'm sure it was great, but he would walk in the door and I could smell it from upstairs. Sorry I avoided you for all of Thanksgiving Brad! I have also been experiencing the crying syndrome lately. Yesterday I ended up having to work for a lot longer than planned, and I was exhausted. I knew our apartment was messy so I was preparing myself for the cleaning. When I walked in the place was spotless! Lendel had cleaned everything and even done the piles of laundry I had been neglecting. I cried.... a lot. I married a good one! Thanks Lendel for being the best guy to me always :)
My belly is starting to move out slightly, mostly because I'm not throwing up everything I eat :) We'll see how long until I look full-out prego! Anyway, if you happen to see me around crying, just know they are probably tears of joy for some small thing, and understand that I swear I have no control. I'm pregnant. I plan on using that excuse frequently for the next 7 months!

Here We Go!
Well, I think it's about time I let everyone in on a little secret! I guess I'll start with some hints:
-All I want to eat is cereal, pancakes, root beer floats and mac n' cheese
-Unfortunately if I eat anything but those things I will throw it up...or get MAJOR heartburn
-I've been absolutely exhausted and maybe, possibly a wee bit ..... emotional? (you'll have to ask Lendel)
-My pants have been fitting terribly awkward lately.....
I'm sure it's not too difficult now right? Yep... Lendel and I are expecting our first baby! As of today I'm about 11 weeks along and this little one is due on June 11th of 2013. We are super excited, and really really nervous! I'll be done with school in May so just in time right? I guess i'll just have to endure walking around campus with a huge belly.
I can honestly say that my favorite part in this adventure so far has been telling our families the happy news. Oh man the faces and exclamations! Lendel and I are both the oldest in our families so this will be the first grand baby on both sides. Sadly, most of the people we told didn't believe us, including my own mother. Her reasoning was that there is absolutely no way I could have had an ultrasound at only 7 weeks. Umm Mom, have you seen technology lately? I guess it also doesn't help that I'm constantly telling jokes and being sarcastic.
My favorite was when I would say to someone, "Guess what", and they automatically say, "You're pregnant", because that's the universal answer you give to anyone that's married right? Then when I said "yes", the shocking reply of, "WHAT!? NO YOU'RE NOT!" was all I got. Umm..... didn't you just guess that one? Now why are you so shocked? It's been quite comical I must say.
Anyhow, that's our exciting news for the week :) Once I get help figuring out more about his whole blogging thing I'll start the oh-so-famous weekly pregnancy pics as this belly of mine grows.

JOY =]
What an eventful couple of weeks! School has about beaten me to death, but luckily I'm done with this week. I keep seeing everyone post about how thankful they are for blessings in their lives every day of November. To be honest, I never knew that was even a tradition! However, I have found myself grateful for so many things lately. First of all, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love this gospel. I love the teachings. I love the Leaders we have. I love the temple. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love everything about my Father in Heaven and His plan for us. What I have realized I am most grateful for lately is the people in my ward. There are so many kind, wonderful people that I am surrounded by. I can't describe the love I feel for everyone around me, and I know they share that love for me. The people in my ward bring me JOY. I have never been so happy in my life as I am right now, and I know that true happiness is finding joy in serving others. I wish I could say "Thank you" to every person that has touched me or made my life better in some way. The truth is, there are too many to count....
